Richardson Heights is Richardson’s first shopping center, constructed in the 1950s following the expansion of Central Expressway into the City limits. Over the past 70 years, this shopping center has weathered a number of financial downturns and market changes, and is still going strong. In 2012, the Austin-based Alamo Drafthouse announced its expansion into the North Texas market, selecting Richardson Heights as its first location. Since then, Richardson Heights has experienced new life with trendy restaurants, shopping and entertainment.
